The UAE forces returned home from Yemen after sweating it out and helping the war-torn region to regain strength and stand on its feet again.  It was five years ago that foreign-backed rogue militias posed unprecedented threat to the Yemen’s security and stability. It was determined effort of Saudi Arabia and the UAE who took a bold stand in the face of such a threat to defend and restore the security of this part of the world.

Yemen has been under civil war for almost a decade where more than 3 million people have lost their lives, children and women displaced and reeling under the worst humanitarian crises in the history of the world.

This was a Saudi led coalition effort where the goals were very clear. The coalition intended to restore the legitimate government, help the people of Yemen rebuild their country. It was also important to keep other foreign intervention at bay that was not willing to work in tandem with the UN Security Council set guidelines, ensuring alienation the existential threat to the Saudi region and neighbouring countries.

Saudi Arabia and the UAE participation is being seen as being team players of history in making and being applauded to be on the ‘right side of it’.

It has been confirmed that the UAE forces that have safely returned home, were instrumental in fighting and liberating most of Yemen. They have also helped in building roads, hospitals, schools and secured airports, ports and vital Yemeni resources.
