Saudi minister meets business leaders in Davos to discuss finances, investments, and innovation
In order to discuss the future of finance and how to have a good long-term economic impact, Faisal Al-Ibrahim, the Saudi minister of economy and planning, met with Stephen Schwarzman, the chairman, CEO, and co-founder of the private equity firm Blackstone, on Friday in Davos, Switzerland.
The minister also spoke with Maelle Gavet, CEO of pre-seed investment company Techstars, which has assisted more than 3,300 early-stage startups globally, and Jean-Louis Girodolle, CEO of Lazard Investment Banking in France, about inclusive models for collaborative investment and transformative business solutions.

The gatherings followed the World Economic Forum’s annual conference, which was held in Davos this week. Saudi Arabia and the WEF also inked a memorandum of intent on Tuesday to establish an accelerator programme to support innovation in the Kingdom. The agreement was struck during a meeting between the WEF’s top brass and a high-level delegation from the Kingdom.
Al-Ibrahim was part of a Saudi delegation to Davos that also included Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Princess Reema bint Bandar, Abdullah Al-Swaha, Minister of Communications and IT, and Bandar Alkhorayef, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources.
