President Sisi Holds Bilateral Talks on Regional Peace at D-8 Summit

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi engaged in high-level discussions with Middle Eastern leaders during the 11th Summit of the Developing Eight Organization for Economic Cooperation.
This summit held in Egypt’s new administrative capital. Which was focused on growing economic collaboration and working on regional issues.
Support for Palestine
In a meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Sisi promised about the support by the Egypt for the Palestinians. They discussed strategies to restore peace in Palestinian territories, ways to find a ceasefire, and how to make delivery smoother of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Sisi showed support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. Abbas expressed gratitude for stand by Egypt.

Strengthening Ties with Iran and Solidarity with Lebanon
This was the first time in last 11 years by an Iranian leader to Egypt. During the meeting Sisi also met with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. Both of the leaders discussed how to boost bilateral relations and and they talked about the regional tensions. They talked about the situation in Palestine
During the meeting talks held between Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati and Sisi. Sisi showed his support for Lebanon stability.
So, the President Sisi’s discussions highlighted Egypt’s leading role in promoting peace and stability in the Middle East.
