Israel Received List of Hostages Releases on Thursday
A list of captives held by Hamas that would be freed on Thursday as part of a ceasefire agreement in Gaza was sent to Israel, according to the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“Israel received the list of hostages who are supposed to be released from Hamas captivity tomorrow,” the prime minister’s office said in a statement on Wednesday adding further details would be given “after the families are updated.”
According to Netanyahu’s office, more information would be provided “after the families are updated.”
The release is expected to be part of the ongoing ceasefire efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions in the war.
Officials have stated that security and humanitarian arrangements are in place to facilitate the safe return of the captives.
Families of those held by Hamas have been anxiously awaiting news with hopes that this step will lead to further negotiations for the release of other hostages.
