After several matches in the qualifying rounds Iran joins Asian team to reach the 2026 FIFA World Cup. In Tehran the Iranian team earned a draw at 2-2 against Uzbekistan to establish their North American World Cup qualification. Despite tensions with America, Iran earned diplomatic-style qualification rights together with a mark of progress in their World Cup journey.
