The Morocco Senegal relations have taken a centre stage once again as the two nations acted in a rapid manner to re-establish diplomatic goodwill and economic partnership after the tensions at the Africa Cup of Nations final. Authorities emphasized that the tensions in the recent AFCON were not political divisions, but those of emotion. Senegal regards Morocco as one of the investors in the African region especially in the banking, energy and agricultural sectors, whereas Morocco regards Senegal as an export destination and strategic location in West Africa. The reinforcement of Morocco Senegal relationships is also part of the broader African outreach strategy by Morocco and the strategy of Senegal to encourage foreign investment and enhances the partnership between Morocco and Senegal as a partnership of trust, solidarity and long term economic interests.
