Tainan’s Chimei Museum Unveils Taiwan’s Largest Ancient Egypt Exhibition

The Chimei Museum in Tainan is the official opening of the largest Taiwanese ancient Egypt exhibition which attracted the attention of the world to the city and its emerging cultural status. The Tainan Chimei Museum Egypt exhibition contains hundreds of rare objects on loan by the British Museum of which most have never been exhibited in Taiwan before. The 3,000-year-old Egyptian culture is combined with the immersive design experience in the exhibition, which allows the audience to immerse themselves in the strength, religion, and legacy of pharaohs and strengthens the image of Tainan as a large global cultural center.
Pharaohs, Power, and Global Heritage
The Tainan Chimei Museum Egypt exhibition, named Pharaoh: King of Egypt, showcases 280 of the most valuable goods, and almost 99 percent of these have not shown up in Taiwan before. The Tainan Chimei Museum Egypt exhibition consists of a series of sophisticated lighting, sound effects, and edited story-telling to examine the way pharaohs ascended to power with the support of divine authority and political power.
