Covid-19, how Morocco is emerging from the health crisis

Moroccan authorities announced the resumption of flights to and from the country starting Tuesday, June 15, as previously announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans residing abroad, underlining that these flights will be carried out with exceptional authorizations.
The new measures aim to facilitate the return home of Moroccans residing abroad. Based on the positive indicators of the epidemiological situation and the decline in cases of novel coronavirus infection, particularly after the expansion of vaccination, the Moroccan authorities have taken further progressive measures to ease the restrictions on the movement of travelers wishing to access the National territory.
The return of Moroccans from abroad
Possible returns concern a particular list of countries with positive indicators. Travelers from these “A” countries – whether they are Moroccan citizens, foreigners established in Morocco, or citizens of these countries or resident foreigners – can enter the Moroccan territory if they have a vaccination certificate and/or a negative result of a PCR test of at least 48 hours from the date of entry into the national territory.Holders of foreign vaccination certificates will benefit from the same benefits afforded by the Moroccan vaccination certificate to Moroccan citizens on the national territory, the ministry said.For returns from other countries (from list “B”), medical isolation of 10 days must be added.
As regards the return of Moroccans residing abroad by sea, as part of the Marhaba 2021 operation, it will take place from the same maritime transit points of last year in compliance with the aforementioned health conditions, knowing that in addition to the PCR test presented to upon boarding, travelers will undergo another test onboard to ensure maximum health safety for themselves and their loved ones.

The vaccination-pass
Over ten million citizens in Morocco have received the first dose of the anti-covid vaccine, 5.9 million vaccinated with the second dose. These numbers represent the third of all vaccinations that have occurred as far as Africa.Morocco is also introducing a vaccination pass, which can be downloaded from today on the site dedicated to vaccination. The pass allows the holder, without the need for an additional document, to travel throughout the national territory without restrictions. It makes it possible to go out after 11 pm and travel abroad.
The vaccination pass, which has a QR code that allows authentication via an application provided for this purpose, can be downloaded in printable or electronic format to be presented on a smartphone. It can also be collected, in paper format, from local authorities under whose jurisdiction the vaccination center of the person concerned is located.
New investments in the health sector
The Moroccan group Akdital, one of the main local players in private healthcare, Saturday inaugurated its new hospital in El Jadida, in the Casablanca-Settat region, described as the largest private hospital complex in the Kingdom. This was reported by the Map news agency, stating that the structure was built thanks to an investment of approximately 20 million euros.The hospital, with an area of over 15,000 square meters, is a multidisciplinary medical facility, built according to international hospital standards, and has a total of 220 beds, of which 21 are intensive care.
There are 11 operating theatres, 22 resuscitation boxes, a complete radiological center, a medical analysis laboratory equipped with the latest technologies, surgery, and cardiology departments.
Akdital’s CEO, Rochdi Talib, indicated on this occasion that “the objectives of the Akdital group are the creation and opening of clinics compliant with international standards and covering a large part of the national territory”, adding that the mission of the Group is making access to healthcare a priority by emphasizing global patient care.
