On the Zamalek island located in Gezira, Cairo Tower Egypt, 187 meters (614 feet) high, was built in 1961 as a Kuwaiti present to Nasser, it is 50 meters taller than the Giza Pyramids. It has a lotus lattice pattern, which represents rebirth, and made out of Aswan granite. On clear days, the observation deck at the top of Cairo Tower is 160 meters high, which allows 360-degree views of the Nile, the Citadel, downtown, and the distant pyramids. The cost of Cairo Tower tickets is EGP 200 for adults (observation + revolving restaurant), EGP 100 for children/ seniors; open 8 am-midnight.
