Egypt Brings King Tutankhamun Opera to Life on the Global Stage
Egypt will be ready to attract the universe by turning ancient history into high arts in the form of a grand King Tutancamun opera. Famous archeologist Zahi Hawass has unveiled an ambitious operatic show that is based on the life and heritage of the boy King. The King Tutankamun opera has been developed in three years of active study and writing, as it attempts to combine classical music with Egyptian civilization rich heritage. This cultural project is an indication of an increase in attention of Egypt on creative telling of stories to revive the past and market tourism as well as enhance its global cultural identity by the performing arts.
Bringing Ancient Egypt to the Operatic Stage
The king tutankhamun opera represents a grand project between Zahi Hawass, a renowned Italian librettist, and a renowned composer in the world. The King Tutankhamun opera, built in the spirit of the ancient Egyptian history, but utilizing modern artistic approach, is bound to appear on February 4, in the event organized by the Italian Embassy, in which approximately 350 Egyptian representatives will also attend.
