egypt to announce new tax relief package to boost investments

Egypt will introduce a complete tax relief program during the upcoming month aiming to increase tax system transparency while inviting foreign direct investment. According to Egypt Today which cites Rasha Abdel Aal as head of the Egyptian Tax Authority the initiative remains under tight supervision by the finance minister to fulfill business requirements. This package targets three key elements that would clear business obstacles and enhance tax process clarity while fostering better business conditions.

The tax office reform features a new auditing method based on samples that concentrates on high-risk cases throughout all locations. The implementation of this reform strategy will boost compliance rates and lower the number of problematic audits to make business procedures easier. The Egyptian government implements reforms for its tax refund system thus it expects an increased number of processed refund cases by four times. The refund process will receive support from tax officers who will receive additional power combined with specific direction and documentation requirements sent in advance to taxpayers.

The Egyptian administration continues to implement tax system reforms which aim to enhance investment opportunities in the country. During his September 2024 announcement the Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk presented multiple tax system transparency measures for Egypt. This new body will provide total tax-related details to both home and foreign investors making decisions about new investments.
