Morocco Receives First Boeing Apache Attack Helicopters

On March 3, 2025, the Royal Moroccan Air Force (RMAF) welcomed its first six AH-64E Apache attack helicopters during a special event at the 1st Air Base of Salé.
Morocco signed contracts in June 2020 to buy 24 AH-64Es with an optional purchase of another 12 helicopters worth around $440 million. The transaction covers the purchase of 551 Hellfire air-to-surface missiles and 200 AIM-92H Stinger air-to-air missiles along with 558 Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System precision-guided rocket kits. Boeing released its first batch of AH-64Es during January 2025 with three helicopters traveling overnight through Texas before proceeding to Morocco.
Boeing celebrates the long history of working with Morocco by introducing the advanced AH-64E Apache to this alliance.
Morocco made this deal at a time when regional conflict builds up as they plan to spend $13 billion on defense by 2025. Instead of depending on twenty-four Gazelles for attack duties Morocco adds itself to the sixteen nations operating Apaches which allow accurate target location and advanced night vision navigation functions.
