US President-elect Donald Trump recently met with Ron Dermer. Ron is an advisor to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
US newly elected 45th president met with him to discuss the Middle East situation and potential actions by the U.S. This meeting took place at Mar-a-Lago residence of Trump in Florida.
According to the regional news source Mehr News Agency, Dermer shared messages from the side of Israeli PM Netanyahu and updated Trump on strategies of Israel regarding Gaza, Lebanon, and Iran.
According to a U.S. official one key topic was understanding which issues Trump preferred to address before his inauguration on January 20 and which he wanted Israel to hold off on. Israel sought the views of Trump on several matters, including plans for Gaza, a ceasefire with Lebanon, and the potential normalization of Israeli-Saudi relations.
The Biden administration was informed in advance about this meeting, sources said.
