Saudi Arabia claims there are no criminal accusations in the Dakar rally accident

Saudi Arabia– The Saudi foreign ministry said on Friday that preliminary findings of an inquiry into an accident during the Dakar motor rally last week that left one French competitor hospitalized revealed no criminal suspicions .

According to the ministry, the Kingdom is in contact with the appropriate French authorities to discuss any available evidence related to the incident.

According to France’s foreign minister, the explosion that occurred under a French truck participating in the rally in Saudi Arabia might have been a terrorist strike.
