According to Arab News, On Tuesday, UN agencies warned that decision of Israel to ban the UN relief agency UNRWA is not right. It could result in the more deaths of children and civillians.

UNICEF spokesperson James Elder said that “the collapse of the humanitarian system” in Gaza is a likely outcome, directly affecting children.

The conflict in the region is becoming worse and according to the data there are already confirmed deaths of over 13,300 children. WFP already reported there are many more risk like disease, food, and water shortages, according to Palestinian health data. 

Tarik Jasarevic of the World Health Organization highlighted the indispensable role of UNRWA, which employs around 1,000 health workers in Gaza, including one-third of the healthcare team managing polio vaccinations.

U.N. officials view the ban as potentially adding to collective punishment of population of the Gaza, which can be considered a war crime under international law. Israeli officials cited security concerns, pointing to accusations that some UNRWA staff were involved in the October 7 attack by Hamas, which has been denied by the U.N.
