Rockets fired from Syria, three killed in Turkey

According to the country’s interior minister, three people have died as a result of rocket attacks on the Turkish neighborhood of Karkamis, which is close to the Syrian border.
According to reports, five rockets were fired on Monday, with one of them striking a school and injuring six people, including two badly.
The rockets also struck two homes and a truck close to the border crossing connecting Karkamis to the Syrian town of Jarablus, according to Turkey’s Anadolu Agency.
Images on Anadolu showed a truck on fire as well as broken windows at a school. Six policemen and two soldiers were hurt by rockets fired from Syria on Sunday when they plowed into a border crossing.

After the Turkish air force launched airstrikes on positions in Syria held by the Kurdish People’s Protection Units, or the YPG, on Sunday, it is believed that Kurdish militants fired the rockets from northern Syria.
PKK locations in northern Iraq were also targeted by Turkish airstrikes. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a monitoring group, estimates that at least 31 people were killed during the raids in Syria.
Six persons were murdered in an Istanbul attack on November 13; Turkey blames the PKK and views the YPG as the PKK’s Syrian affiliate. The PKK has denied having any part in the incident in Istanbul.
