Lebanon Calls for Justice After Journalists Killed in Hasbaya Amid Ongoing Conflict
According to the National News Agency of Lebanon, Dr. Hassan Falha the Director-General of the Ministry of Information of Lebanon condemned the killing of journalists in Hasbaya by Israeli forces. They had called it a “clear war crime” under international and humanitarian law.
In a statement on the “X” platform, Falha stated that these actions show the occupation’s growing disregard for justice. He also said in his statement that this will not stop the truth from coming to light or silence the voice of a free press.
This statement by the government of Lebanon comes during the time of conflict in southern Lebanon. The incident of killing journalists has raised concerns about the safety of civilians and journalists in the war region. Condemnation by Minister Fallah indicates the demand for the accountability to international standards of the safety of media workers and civilians caught in the crossfire. Else it can impact the freedom of the press, which is truly not good for world.
