Airstrike in Khan Younis Claims Life of Hamas Leader Izz al-Din Kassab
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that they had killed Izz al-Din Kassab. Izz al-Din Kassab was a key member of Hamas. He was the head of the political bureau group and he was responsible for coordinating relations with other factions in Gaza.
In a statement, IDF said, “Kassab was a significant source of power and, by virtue of his role, was responsible for the organization’s strategic and military relations with other factions in the Gaza Strip. He held the authority to direct the execution of terror attacks against the State of Israel”.

According to the IDF, Izz al-Din Kassab died in an airstrike in Khan Younis, a city in southern Gaza. This operation was based on intelligence gathered by the IDF and the Israel Security Agency, as reported by Xinhua.
An Israel based verified X account shared a video update about the killing of this leader. “The military has released footage of the strike that killed top Hamas official Izz al-Din Kassab, one of the last remaining members of Hamas’s political bureau. The operation took place in the Khan Younis area”

The IDF described Kassab as an important figure within Hamas, with the authority to plan attacks against Israel. They also mentioned that his assistant, Ayman Ayesh, was killed in the same airstrike.
As of now, Hamas has not confirmed the death of their leader Izz al-Din Kassab.
