Palestinian Militants Release Video of Israeli Hostage Trupanov in Gaza

An Israeli hostage, Sasha Trupanov has been detained in Gaza since the October 2023 attack. A Palestinian militant group connected with Hamas published a fresh video of Trupanov but the content of the video is not reported.
Aryeh Deri, the head of the Sephardi ultra-Orthodox party called “Shas” which is part of Israel’s ruling group was urged by Trupanov who was recognized by his family in the earlier video that was made public on Wednesday to assist in the release of him and the other captives who were being held in Gaza.
The Shas party is in favour of an agreement that would free them in accordance with the Jewish religious duty to do everything in one’s power to free prisoners.
Deri referred to the return of the hostages as a “sacred duty” in September.
Trupanov, a 29 old and a dual citizen of Israel and Russia was kidnapped from the Nir Oz kibbutz which is close to the Gaza border together with his girlfriend named Sapir Cohen.
During a week-long truce and hostage-prisoner exchange in November 2023 his girlfriend Cohen was freed together with Trupanov’s mother and grandparents.
The bloodiest attack in Israeli history which occurred on October 7th 2023 claimed the life of his father, Vitaly.
Islamic Jihad has now produced four videos of Trupanov.
Prior to the broadcast of the most recent video, Maria Zakharova, who is a spokesperson for the Russian foreign ministry, demanded the release of Trupanov and another captive, Maxim Herkin.
Maria stated, “We reiterate our call for the immediate and unconditional release of all civilians held by Palestinian groups with priority given to our compatriots.”
