Ooredoo Kuwait Teams Up with Ericsson for Revolutionary 5G Network Upgrade

Ooredoo Kuwait has committed a historic alliance with one of the telecommunications giants, Ericsson, to revamp its mobile network infrastructure. This is a strategic partnership that aims at modernizing charging systems of Ooredoo in order to make it ready to provide superior services using the advanced 5G technology and establish new revenue through the competitive Kuwaiti telecom industry.
This collaboration is a major boost in the process of digitization in Kuwait, where the two firms shall cooperate to support the advancements of telecommunications in the country and offer high-tech mobile services to their customers.
Advanced 5G Charging System Brings New Opportunities
The key in this alliance is the introduction of the most current cloud-native charging state-of-the-art technology by Ericsson on the Ooredoo Kuwait network. The new solution, referred to as Ericsson Charging, will be powered by Ericsson Cloud Native Infrastructure (CNIS) and it will serve as a flexible and modern base of 5G services.
The new charging system is real time that enables Ooredoo Kuwait to come up with customized packages, special offers and discounts that can be done to the customers in real time. Such flexibility allows the company to be faster at adapting to market requirements and to implement new pricing mechanisms which would otherwise never be achievable using outdated technology.
To the clients this means more personalized mobile plan and services. This cloud native charging system allows Ooredoo Kuwait to provide various 5G services depending on the requirements of each customer be it their ordinary mobile internet connection or sophisticated virtual reality and even smart capabilities services.
This collaboration also involves the deployment of Charging Access Function (CAF) of Ericsson that is a gateway between various network entities.
