Abolfazl Adinezadeh: Teenage protester shot dead by Iranian security forces – Report
Iranian security forces reportedly killed a teenage boy, identified as Abolfazl Adinezadeh, 17, in Mashhad, a city in northeast Iran. They fired a shotgun at him at point-blank range because he took part in the protest.
According to the BBC, Abolfazl Adinezadeh skipped school to join anti-government protests on 8 October. However, he never returned home. His family initially had no idea what had happened to him. Later on, the education ministry called his parents and asked them to pick him up from the local police station. When they got there, they found him dead. His death certificate, obtained by the BBC, showed that he died because of liver and kidney damage caused by birdshot.
A source told BBC that it was fired less than 1m (3ft) away. A video also showed that Abolfazl’s father pleaded at his funeral, “What crime had he committed that you sprayed his stomach with 24 birdshot?”

The sources told the BBC that Abolfazl’s father was warned at the police station to not speak about the incident to anyone. According to sources, Abolfazl’s aunt held up a picture of Abolfazl over his grave, but a female agent of the Iranian security forces took the picture from her and put it under her veil.
Iran’s Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) said that 244 protesters, including 32 children, so far, have been killed by Iranian security forces in the violent crackdown.
Protests erupted in the Islamic Republic of Iran over the death of a 22-year-old woman, Mahsa Amini. She was arrested for allegedly breaching Iranian rules requiring women to cover their heads. Human rights activists said that they arrested her because she was wearing a loose Hijab. They took her to the detention centre. However, she collapsed at the detention centre. Subsequently, she was taken to the hospital. However, three days later, the doctor pronounced her dead.
