Beyoncé Breaks Record as Most-Nominated Artist in Grammys History for 2025
Beyoncé is the most nominated artist in Grammy history with 11 nominations for “Cowboy Carter” which puts her career total to 99.
“Texas Hold ‘Em” has been nominated for record, song and country song of the year, and she is a nominee for both album and country album of the year.
Cowboy Carter has also received nominations in a variety of genres such as pop, country, Americana and melodic rap. She has never before received nominations in the Americana and country categories.
The record for the most career nominations was previously held by her and her husband, Jay-Z with 88 nominations.
Beyoncé will become the first Black woman to win album of the year in the twenty-first century if she does. Lauryn Hill who joined Natalie Cole and Whitney Houston as the only Black women to ever receive the Grammy’s top honor was the final winner in 1999 with “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.”
In addition, Post Malone’s first-ever country nominations have also created history. The song “I Had Some Help” which he co-wrote with Morgan Wallen was nominated for both country song and country duo/group performance. His debut country album, F-1 Trillion was released in August and received a nomination for country album of the year. Also this is Wallen’s first Grammy nomination.
With seven nominations, Malone follows behind Beyoncé who is tied with Kendrick Lamar, Charli XCX and Billie Eilish. Charli XCX received her first nominations as a solo artist.
Taylor Swift receives six nominations, the same as newcomer Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan.
The main categories were dominated by female performers last year. That is somewhat still the case this year but a change in genre appears to be the primary trend.
