The US has signed a new armed deal with Israel. On Saturday, US President Joe Biden has approved an $8 billion arms deal. This deal includes bombs, artillery, and warheads in the list. 

This decision of the U.S. has raised strong reactions and criticism by the human rights advocates all over the world. But The US and Biden administration are trying to protect Israel and stating that these arms deal was necessary for maintaining security for Israel. The are calling this arms deal is for “defense purposes.”

As per the reports by US Media reports the US Department of State has informally notified Congress about a potential $8 billion arms sale to Israel.

According to Axios, “the agreement will have a long-term scope. A portion of the shipment will come from existing US stockpiles, while the remainder may take over a year to manufacture and deliver.”

The arms deal is announced when Gaza is facing a humanitarian crisis. Thousands died and millions were displaced because of this crisis. Many are questioning the timing and purpose of the deal.

Before this deal, the US had also signed another arms deal of $20 billion with Israel in August. The US is continuing to supply weapons to Israel. The US is the top arms supplier to Israel, but now a wave of criticism is also arising. These arms and weapons are a threat to the peace and security of the region.

But on the other side, the Biden administration defends the arms deal. They are saying it is important for the security of Israel.  Arms are important for the security of Israel’s border.
