Egypt Launches National Council to Boost Medical Tourism

As truly evidenced by this move, Egypt is stepping up its efforts to become a premier medical tourism state. The Egyptian Cabinet has approved the establishment of a National Medical Tourism Council for boosting the tourism branch of the health sector in the country.

The new council will be headed by the Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and will be involved with the dimensions of meaningful service improvement, devising international standards, and positioning Egypt as a credible name in global medical tourism. However, if the Prime Minister shall attend the meeting, he will chair it.

The council is expected to convene at least once every three months or as required and will report to the Prime Minister with progress in quarterly reports. These reports will include accomplishments, timelines, roadblocks, and solutions concerning enhancing medical tourism in Egypt.

The council has the authority to decide on matters of national importance in the medical tourism environment. It will further be responsible for updating plans so they can be tailored to the current trends found all over the world. The council will design various public awareness campaigns, partner with the private sector, and finally create an impactful international image of Egypt medical services in the world.
