Egypt urges Sudan to improve bilateral relations
According to a statement from the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi spoke verbally with Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan yesterday about ways to improve relations between the two neighbouring countries.
Major Abbas Kamel, the commander of Egyptian General Intelligence, was met in Khartoum by Burhan and the director of Sudanese Intelligence, Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal.
The statement claims that Kamel spoke with Al-Sisi on behalf of Al-Burhan about measures to advance bilateral ties and foster collaboration between the two nations in all areas.

According to the statement, Al-Burhan emphasised the value of Sudanese-Egyptian relations and the necessity to strengthen them in order to further shared interests.
Al-Burhan travelled to Cairo on September 24 and met with Al-Sisi to discuss bilateral ties and collaboration as well as the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), which Egypt claims threaten its access to Nile water.
