Emmanuel Macron Seeks Middle East Peace Progress During Three-Day Egypt Visit

President Macron became president in 2017. He has met President Sissi twelve times during three-day visits to Cairo. During his trip, President Macron will make an impact on peace efforts at their most critical point. Gaza issues will occupy most of their discussions while both leaders work on a partnership for the economy.
Since France has long served as a link between its region and the Arab world, it aims to end the conflict between Israel and Hamas through diplomacy. According to a spokeswoman of the Elysee Palace, the presidents will discuss terms for ending hostilities and bringing peace to the conflict.
France chose its moment to intervene based on how others see a weakened international position. The lack of clear direction from both the US and Germany gives France a chance to take charge in global affairs. Egypt plays a major critical role in balancing the power structure across its surrounding countries. Egypt stands as an important influencer because it interfaces three continents and holds 110 million people who help resolve nearby hostilities.
According to DW Global Media Forum, Egypt stands as a central player for peace talks in the Middle East region. France seeks to work with Egypt; however, Amnesty International urges Macron to speak about human rights abuses during his trip. The Elysee confirms that human rights concerns will be part of official talks yet its leaders prioritize diplomatic negotiations on economy and security matters above all else.
