Supporting creative communities in the Arab world has always been at the core of our mission, and this year is no exception,” announced the organizers of Fashion Trust Arabia (FTA) on Wednesday. The highly anticipated 6th edition of the awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in Marrakech, Morocco, in October.

“In line with our ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion, we have chosen the vibrant city of Marrakech as our host location,” the statement read. “FTA 2024 will invite talents from around the world to explore and showcase Morocco’s diverse cultural heritage.”

The 5th edition of FTA was canceled due to the “humanitarian crisis in Palestine,” as stated by the organizers at that time. Fashion Trust Arabia is a non-profit organization that provides financial support, guidance, and mentorship to emerging designers from the Middle East and North Africa region.

Known for attracting industry heavyweights, the FTA awards ceremony has become a prominent event in the fashion world. In 2022, notable personalities such as Bella Hadid, Naomi Campbell, Karolina Kurkova, Valentino’s Creative Director Pier Paolo Piccioli, British models Jourdan Dunn and Poppy Delevingne, former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo, British actress Jodie Turner-Smith, American model Jasmine Tookes, and Somali-American top model Halima Aden participated in the ceremony.

The choice of Marrakech as the venue for FTA 2024 aligns with the organization’s commitment to showcasing and celebrating the rich creative talent from the Arab region. The event will not only provide a platform for emerging designers to gain recognition but also serve as an opportunity to explore and highlight Morocco’s vibrant cultural scene.
