Four hostages rescued in Israeli military operation in central Gaza

The Israeli army has announced that four hostages have been freed during a special operation in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.
25-year-old Noa Argamani, 21-year-old Almog Meir Jan, 27-year-old Andrey Kozlov and 40-year-old Shlomi Ziv were rescued by the Israeli army, intelligence services and special forces from two separate locations in Nuseirat, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said on Saturday
.All four were abducted at the Nova music festival on 7 October, according to the the IDF.‘
All four are in good health and have been transferred to the “Sheba” medical centre in Tel-HaShomer for further medical examinations’, the IDF added. The rescue of the hostages taken during the Hamas attacks on 7 October remains a major objective of Israel’s military campaign in Gaza.
The operation was the third successful of its kind. Corporal Ori Megidish of the Israeli army was rescued in October last year in the north of the Gaza Strip. In another operation, on 12 February this year, Fernando Marman and Louis Har were rescued in the south of Rafah.
One of the best-known remaining hostages, she appeared in a series of Hamas propaganda videos published in January.
The third and final video appears to show the bodies of Svirsky and Sharabi. Argamani is also seen stating that the two men were killed by Israeli shelling, their deaths later confirmed by their home village.

The news of their liberation came as the Israeli army declared that it was ‘targeting the terrorist infrastructure’ in the Nuseirat area of the central Gaza Strip.
Intensive Israeli air strikes and artillery fire are also taking place in the neighbouring areas of al-Zawaideh and Deir al-Balah, where casualties have been reported.
