Israel Detains 100 Suspected Militants in Gaza Hospital Raid
The Israeli military reported that during a raid on a hospital in northern Gaza over the weekend, it arrested 100 suspected Hamas militants. The World Health Organization reports that 44 male employees were detained by Israeli forces during their raid on the Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahiya on Friday. According to Palestinian medical professionals, the raid severely damaged the hospital, which was caring for some 200 patients.
Throughout the conflict, Israel has conducted raids on a number of Gazan hospitals, claiming that Hamas and other militants use them for military purposes. Medical officials in Palestine reject those claims and blame the military with carelessly throwing civilians at danger.
The Israeli military has asked the Palestinians to vacate the region in the northern Gaza, as it has been conducting a huge assault for more than three weeks now. Minimum of 400,000 people are still in the northern Gaza, where hunger is widespread as per the UN report earlier on this month. This is because the amount of humanitarian food that has been able to reach the area in the past month has drastically decreased.
Local health officials, who fail to differentiate between terrorists and civilians, claim that Israel’s operation in Gaza has killed over 43,000 Palestinians, with women and children accounting for more than half of the deaths.The Israel-Hamas war started on October 7 of last year when militants led by Hamas broke holes in Israel’s security fence and went in, killing almost 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapping 250 more.
According to Lebanon’s health ministry, more than 2,600 people have died and 12,200 have been injured in the past year.
The United Nations children’s organization reports that over 400,000 children are among the 1.2 million people who have been forced from their homes by the conflict in Lebanon.
Since conflict intensified in September, many of Hezbollah’s top officials have been killed by Israeli strikes.
