Jordan ranks third in the world for olive oil exports

According to the most recent “FAO” data, Jordan placed in third place internationally among nations that exported the most olives in 2021 with 8,613 tonnes exported. Portugal took the first spot with 51,73 thousand tonnes exported, followed by Spain with 27.3 thousand tonnes.

With a production of 8.256 million tonnes in 2021, Spain led all other nations in the production of olives, followed by Italy in a distant second place (2.227 million tonnes), Turkey in third place (1.73 million tonnes), Morocco in fourth place (1.59 million tonnes), and Portugal in third place (1.37 million tonnes).

With an output of 976,000 tonnes, Egypt came in sixth place, followed by Algeria with 704,000 tonnes, Tunisia with 700,000 tonnes, Syria with 566,000 tonnes, and Saudi Arabia in 10th place overall and sixth in the Arab world.

According to the report, Spain produced the most olive oil globally in 2021 (1.07 million tonnes), followed by Italy (343,900 tonnes), Portugal (213,000 tonnes), and Tunisia (185,000 tonnes).

According to the FAO, Jordan is one of the top 10 producers of olives in the world, with more than 20 million trees spread all across the country.
