Lakers Star Luka Doncic Surprises BTS’ J-Hope with Exclusive Sneakers

On game night against the Warriors Luka Doncic combined basketball and K-pop by giving J-Hope a pair of his unlaunched signature sneakers. The unique moment between them happened before the Lakers and Warriors game on April 3 at Crypto.com Arena.
Doncic handed J-Hope a shoebox showing the LD logo when he reached J-Hope at his courtside seat. The NBA posted video footage of Luka Doncic telling J-Hope his sneakers are not available yet before J-Hope reacts with excitement when he opens the package.
Living up to his green color preference both J-Hope and NBA fans recognized, the unfinished white basketball shoes sported black and neon green details. The encounter made fans of both stars thrilled because it brought together two pop culture heavyweights at once.
One fan praised it as “Two legend figures posing together” while another person declared that “Luka Doncic has joined BTS’s ARMY clan”.
After meeting players at NBA games J-Hope gained a special personal Lakers jersey with his name and birth year number 94. The K-pop star filmed high-quality basketball footage from his special seat near the court.
Although Doncic and other Lakers stars gave excellent performances, LeBron James and Austin Reaves could not stop Stephen Curry and his Warriors teammates from winning 123-116 at the NBA game.
BTS has earlier shown support for the NBA in past events. BTS member Suga started his NBA ambassador job in 2023 and previously interacted with Doncic to boost the bond between K-pop stars and basketball league officials.
