Linda Yaccarino has taken on the role of Twitter’s new CEO from Monday as tech billionaire Elon Musk focuses on his other companies, including Tesla, SpaceX, The Boring Company and Neuralink.

The new Twitter CEO also hired Joe Benarroch, who has experience in Media Strategy and Effectiveness. According to a report in the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), Benarroch, former executive vice-president at NBC Universal, would be a trusted adviser to Yaccarino at Twitter.
Benarroch said, “I am looking forward to bringing my experience to Twitter, and to working with the entire team to build Twitter 2.0 together. I would focus on business operations at Twitter.”
Yaccarino said, “I’m just as committed to the future of this platform. Your (Benarroch) feedback is vital to that future. I’m here for all of it. Let’s keep the conversation going and build Twitter 2.0 together.”
Reportedly, Elon Musk aims to transform Twitter into “X, the everything app,” just like China’s WeChat. He introduced various changes to boost the revenue of the platform. Musk also rolled out a Twitter-verified blue tick as a paid service to make more money.
Musk also introduced a feature called “Monetization” on Twitter. Under this feature, Twitter users can charge money for their content, including long-form text and hours-long videos.
Recently, Ella Irwin, who was working as Twitter’s head of trust and safety, resigned from her post. She used to take care of the content moderation of the micro-blogging site.
When Musk acquired Twitter in October 2022, he laid off thousands of employees, including senior employees. He also adopted various cost-cutting initiatives.

Reportedly, Musk borrowed $13 billion to buy the micro-blogging site for $44 billion. Morgan Stanley and Bank of America Corp lent money to Musk to close the Twitter acquisition. Since purchasing the social media platform, Musk has come into the limelight.
