Macron Calls for Lifting Gaza Aid Restrictions During Egypt Visit

The president of France visited El-Arish on Tuesday to urge better humanitarian aid access for Gaza people who live in worsening circumstances of conflict. During his visit President El-Sisi accompanied Macron to the vital seaport city which sits 50 kilometers west of Gaza within easy reach of humanitarian relief for Palestinians.

Macron spent his time at the hospital and hospital facilities, where he spoke with Palestinians receiving medical treatment and learned how doctors and nurses were helping people affected by the emergency. He viewed the Red Crescent warehouse stock and talked with both UN authorities and aid organization members to determine how problems were impacting civilians.

The human need situation in Gaza grew worse after Israel blocked humanitarian supplies when peace talks with Hamas failed early in March. The Israel Defense Forces started their offensive campaign in Gaza following a short time of cessation.
