Oman and Afghanistan Discuss Strengthening Economic Ties & Investment Opportunities

Oman and Afghanistan have planned to move in the direction of growth in the nations by enhancing their bilateral ties. The talks were held in Muscat on March 13th 2025. Oman’s Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion Qais Mohammed Al Yousef received Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Afghanistan’s Acting Foreign Affairs Minister, to discuss the possibilities of cooperation and partnership in different sectors.

The two sides concentrated on enhancing the business environment, investment attraction and ease of trade procedures to enhance the economic relations between the two countries. They also touched on joint ventures, especially in the field of logistics and tourism, which would help to spur economic growth. In addition, there was a focus on knowledge and experience exchange to enable mutual development.

One of the major points of the meeting was the unveiling of the ‘Invest Oman’ in which Afghanistan’s delegation was informed about major investment opportunities across Oman’s economic sectors.

The talks also addressed the possibility of increasing bilateral trade and the two parties concurred to enhance trade exchange in a bid to realize the opportunities at hand. These strategic negotiations are intended to advance the business terrain and unlock new channels for both nations to develop together in the future years.
