Saudi Arabia May Grant Citizenship Under Crown Prince’s Directive
Following a proposal from the Interior Minister this year, Saudi Arabia passed a law allowing Prime Minister and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to grant citizenship to specific individuals.
Article Eight of the Saudi Nationality Law, which gives the Prime Minister the authority to grant citizenship, was amended in January, according to a royal decree.
According to a tweet from the official Twitter account for the Makkah Al Mukarramah region, which cited the Ministry of Interior, the decree was made into law on March 13.

After reviewing Royal Decree No. (M/88) of November 6, 1444 A.H., Article Eight of the Saudi Nationality Law will be changed to read, “Saudi nationality may be granted by order of the Prime Minister based on a proposal from the Minister of Interior. “.
The decision will be communicated to whoever needs to adopt it and act in accordance with it, according to the text, and it will take effect as of the date it is published in the Official Gazette.
