Qatar’s “The Ninth Hour” Captivates Cairo, Wins Applause and Critical Acclaim
The Ninth Hour, a production by Qatar Theatre Group, attracted audience interest and positive reviews as it took part in the 16th Arab Theatre Festival, which took place in Cairo and was organized by the Arab Theatre Authority. The play was performed in the official competition of the Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi Award, which is among the most prestigious awards in the festival.
The Ninth Hour, a play that was presented in a full auditorium, entertained the audience with its dramatic scenes, and the audience interacted and clapped throughout the whole performance. The reviewers and theatre experts pointed to the high artistic standard at which the production was created, the way the director managed to treat the text, and the intellectual concept of the work.

The attendance of the production at the festival was a big milestone, considering that it was chosen among the 15 performances out of almost 150 entries received in the Arab world. Director Mohammed Al-Mulla said the play was one of the turning points in his career, which is the result of his theatrical experience in the region and abroad.
