5G Connectivity Arrives in Egypt via Orange and Huawei

Orange Egypt is partnering with Huawei to deliver cutting-edge 5G technology throughout Egypt. This is an exciting leap forward in driving the digital transformation of Egypt.
What is part of this partnership?
MIMO technology: Huawei will provide its advanced Massive MIMO technology, which leverages beamforming and spatial multiplexing to improve network speed and capacity in crowded areas like cities and for demanding responsibilities like 4K/8K streaming, augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR).
E-Band Microwave Backhaul: Provides high-speed, low-latency links in areas that make deployment of fiber optics difficult, enhancing the reach of the network to poorly served urban centers and rural areas.
‘0 Bit, 0 Watt’ energy efficiency: This AI-based energy management platform helps to improve the green footprint of the network and supports Egypt’s sustainability ambitions by reducing power consumption and costs.
Executive Views
Dr. Ayman Amiri, Chief Technology Officer of Orange Egypt, expressed deployment of Massive MIMO, E-Band, and energy-saving platforms will enhance network services and drive new digital ecosystems, including IoT and smart city applications.
Mohamed Youssef, executive at Huawei Egypt, added that the partnership will deliver faster, more reliable networks that are also greener across Egypt.
