Argentinian VP Survives Assassination Attempt And Corruption Charges
Argentina–An assassination attempt failed on the Argentinian vice president recently. Ms. Cristina Fernández in front of her home in Buenos Aires was attacked right outside her house but she escaped unharmed as a man was caught on camera pointing a gun at her.
The vice president was saved as she ducked and had supporters surrounding her. The attempt of shooting with a shotgun was seen as a ‘homicide attempt.’
“A person who was identified by those who were close to him who had a gun was detained by (the vice president’s) security personnel,” Security Minister Aníbal Fernández told local cable news channel C5N. The minister said he wanted to be careful in providing details until the investigation learned more.
Unverified video posted on social media shows the pistol almost touched Fernández’s face. There has been commotion over an attempt over her life and all football matches have been postponed following the assassination attempt. It has also been reported that the gun apparently jammed saving her life, while she ducked in presence of mind.
