‘Nothing Will Stop Us’, Israel Will Continue Until Victory: Netanyahu
Let there be no doubt on this matter, we are continuing until the end, until victory, until the elimination of Hamas, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told soldiers. “Even in the face of international pressure. Nothing will stop us.”
Foreign Minister Eli Cohen said the war against Hamas will continue with or without international support. He believes that a ceasefire at the current stage is a gift to the terrorist organization Hamas. It will allow it to again threaten the residents of Israel.
With the civilian death toll in Gaza rising indiscriminately, Israel is facing mounting pressure. But intense fighting continues in the besieged territory even as the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution on Tuesday calling for an immediate ceasefire. Israel is adamant to continue the war against Hamas.
US and Israel at Loggerheads
In recent weeks, the US is showing difference with Israel’s plans and military offensive in Gaza. US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin warned that Israel risked replacing a tactical victory with a strategic defeat if it failed to sufficiently protect civilians in Gaza. US President Joe Biden said Israel had most of the world supporting it immediately after October 7, but they’re starting to lose that support by the indiscriminate bombing. Jake Sullivan, White House National Security Adviser, will be in Israel today for talks, with discussions to focus on a timetable for the end of war, and Netanyahu to make Israel’s stance clear.
Israel authorities have made it known to the US that they will sustain military presence in the northern regions of Gaza, even after the current phase of hostilities subsides. The IDF will have presence in key areas like Beit Hanoun and Gaza City. The Israeli army reiterated that their intentions don’t involve annexation or resettlement in the Gaza Strip.
However, the commissioner-general of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees Philippe Lazzarini said Israel is trying to clear Gaza of its Palestinian population through its military offensive and evacuation orders. “The developments we are witnessing point to attempts to move Palestinians into Egypt, regardless of whether they stay there or are resettled elsewhere.”
Israel brushed off these comments as rubbish. A government spokesperson said Israeli is prepared to fight for months or longer to defeat Hamas.

Israel Will Not Accept Two-State Solution
While the US is pushing for a two-state solution for an independent Palestine, Israel is not for it at all. Tzipi Hotovely, Israel’s ambassador to the UK, said Israel would not accept a two-state solution when the war in Gaza ends.“Israel knows today, and the world should know now that the Palestinians never wanted to have a state next to Israel. They want to have a state from the river to the sea. They are saying it loud and clear. It’s now two months after the war started. The Palestinian Authority didn’t condemn this massacre October 7. It’s such a big problem.”
