Zelensky Pushes for Diplomatic End to War
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky hopes to end the war with Russia by next year. In an interview with Ukrainian radio, he stressed the importance of diplomacy to achieve peace.
“We must do everything possible to make sure this war ends next year,” Zelensky said. “It has to be resolved through diplomatic means, and that’s crucial.”
His comments highlight Ukraine’s ongoing efforts to find a peaceful solution to the conflict.
In his statement, Zelensky said, “I don’t think Putin wants peace at all. But this does not mean that he does not want to sit down with one of the leaders” to negotiate.
“For him, it destroys the political isolation that has been built since the beginning of the war. And it benefits him to sit down, talk, and not reach an agreement.”
