Elon Musk reacts to Telegram CEO’s statement after Meta limits fact-checking

The CEO of Telegram recently made a playful jab at Meta about its CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s recent decision to end fact-checking on Instagram and Facebook. He noted that Telegram’s commitment to freedom of speech does not depend on the US electoral cycle.
To his statement, billionaire Elon Musk – CEO of Tesla and SpaceX – said: “Good for you.” His endorsement of Meta’s recent decision supports his long-standing belief that such programs often stifle free speech and reflect political bias.
The Telegram CEO further replied to Musk: “I’m sure you can relate. You have been taking a big risk to support free speech – long before it became cool!” Similar to X’s Community Notes, Meta is also planning to introduce a community-based system.
Mark Zuckerberg is going to get rid of fact-checkers and bring in community notes similar to X, starting in the US. He highlighted that it’s time to get back to our roots around free expression. Keep an eye out for more updates.
