Bangladesh President Calls for Enhanced Manpower Recruitment and Investment from Kuwait

The president of Bangladesh has urged Kuwait to recruit more qualified and sub-qualified employees from Bangladesh during a credential awarding ceremony at Bangabhaban. The request came when Kuwait’s ambassador-designate, Ali Tunyan Abdul Wahab Hamadah was presenting his credentials to the President on Tuesday.

Thus, during the meeting, President Shahabuddin touched on the issue that at present more than 350 thousand Bangladeshi work in Kuwait and the recent positive change in the recruitment of professionals such as nurses and other technical specialists. He also wanted more Kuwaiti investments in Bangladesh’s SEZs and other fields such as shipyard, power and energy, construction and construction, pharmaceutical, etc. Among them, the President stressed the actual necessity in Bangladesh for refined petroleum products at a low cost.

They also talked about the Rohingya issue; the President thanked Kuwait for providing humanitarian assistance and urged them to sustain support for the safe return of Myanmar citizens. The new Ambassador commended the Bangladeshi workers’ attitude of dedication and requested presidential assistance in carrying out his emissary roles in Dhaka. A good number of officials were present including the Foreign Secretary Md Jasim Uddin, the President’s Military Secretary Major General Mohammad Adil Chowdhury.
