They are trying to cooperate in addressing the worst environmental problems that countries can suffer, or they are obsessed with sustainable development. Morocco intends to have 95 percent of its population connected to the water and 80 percent of its urban pollution prevented by 2040 under its ambitious National Program for Shared Liquid Sanitation. Canada acknowledges Morocco’s proven expertise in water management and envisions many opportunities in the fields of joint technological and strategic initiatives in Africa in general.

In addition to working bilaterally with the European Union and the National Office of Electricity and Potable Water (ONEE), Morocco is acting as a key regional actor in the area of sustainable water resource development and is engaged in developing water management strategies beyond bilateral cooperation.
