Kuwait has established a new “First Responder” medical fleet to deliver faster emergency medical assistance in life-threatening situations. This important initiative, which was announced on July 10, 2025, is being undertaken as a cooperation project between the Ministry of Health and the General Secretariat of Endowments. During the launch, Health Minister Dr.Ahmad Al-Awadhi noted the project is not only about introducing new vehicles, but also about ability to quickly respond in medical emergencies.”It enhances the national health vision we have, and aims to save even more lives through early medical treatment before reaching hospital,” he said.28 Emergency Vehicles Ready for Duty

A total of 28 vehicles have been added to the emergency system.

The vehicles come fully equipped with oxygen tanks, life-saving medications, IV fluids, stabilizers for fractures, and control equipment or advanced means to address serious injuries. Each vehicle will be staffed by trained emergency technicians and paramedics certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). The placement of the vehicles will be done regionally across the country, regarding population and need, and regular evaluations of the service will provide a constantly evolving plan to ensure they are being placed in high needs areas and working as they should. When someone calls for assistance, the nearest First Responder vehicle will be dispatched immediately. The team will treat the patient with knowledge derived from completion of a medical First Responder course and will continue accompanying the patient until extra help comes or the patient is placed in the care of a hospital. The project is funded by the Waqf Healthcare Fund. Nasser Al-Khader from the Endowment Projects Department said it embodies their responsibility to provide public welfare and growth, by the broad principles of Islamic endowments (Waqf)
