Kuwait Launches 5-Week Training Program to Equip Youth for the Workforce

Public Authority for Youth completed a five-week nutrition training program at Kuwait University’s College of Business Administration. The program included 50 young Kuwaitis preparing for government contract jobs in the private sector and was in collaboration with the Ministry of Health.
According to Dr Hashem Al-Tabtabaei, who headed the program, this activity falls under PAY’s Job Makers project. “The Job Makers project has the ultimate goal of greater job opportunities for young Kuwaitis using various government ministries. We chose 50 trainees out of about 250 applicants because they showed enthusiasm and commitment,” he said. The program consisted of two weeks of theory training and three weeks of practical training at the Ministry of Health hospitals; the practical training allowed the trainees to have working experience in nutrition. Preparation for work by the graduates is now complete after obtaining approval from the Public Authority for Manpower and the Ministry of Health, Dr. Al-Tabtabaei said and thanked all officials and private companies who took part in supporting the youth.
Mishaal Al-Mas’ad, program officer, called on Kuwaiti youth to participate in similar programs to gain knowledge and good job opportunities in the private sector to further build their future possibilities in healthcare and service.
