Flight Cancelled or Rerouted? Iran Airspace Closure Disrupts Global Travel

Iran_Airspace_Closure

Flight Cancelled or Rerouted issues prevailed in the international travel news due to the temporary closure of Iranian airspace because of the increase in geopolitical tensions. The abrupt action meant that the different international airlines had to change their routes or postpone services or even close flights. The Indian airlines suffered the most because most of the long-distance routes to the US, Europe, and Central Asia fly over Iranian airspace on a regular basis.

Most airlines still shunned the region because of the safety concerns even after the airspace had reopened within hours. This caused Flight Cancelled or Rerouted alerts to skyrocket and passengers hastening to get updated, get refunds, and find alternative connections. Experts in the aviation industry observe that it is a normal procedure to evade conflict zones, although frequent disrupted routes may result in increased routes and fuel expenses, as well as strain on operations of airlines.

Flight Cancelled or Rerouted: List of Impacted Flights

Large Indian airlines recommended Flight Cancelled or Rerouted notices. Air India cancelled three of its flights to the US, claiming that other safe alternative routes were not available. Some other Air India flights were also diverted, which resulted in delay. The Baku-Delhi flight of IndiGo was forced to land back in Baku and its Tbilisi-Delhi flight just made it out of Iranian airspace prior to the shutdown. As the airspace of Pakistan is already closed to the Indian carriers, any further disruption increases chances of further Flight Cancelled or Rerouted cases in the days to come.
