The Air India plane crashes has stunned the aviation sector, and the latest investigations have proved that there were deep technical issues that might have led to a fatal accident. Flight incident. As Air India flight (Flight 214) was departing Ahmedabad, it crashed within minutes after takeoff, killing 260 people who including 241 passengers and crew. Researchers working on the Air India plane crashes have discovered a few technical problems with the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner plane that are of major concern. The biggest revelation is that the fuel control switches that operate the plane might have automatically switched themselves off in a manner that the pilots had not done anything.
Just some hours before the Air India plane crashes occurred, one of the pilots flying the same plane between Delhi and Ahmedabad had registered a technical record of a Stabilizer Position Transducer Defect. This sensor regulates the up-down movement of the aircraft and feeds the aircraft’s flight control system electrical messages. Other problems that may occur due to the malfunction of this sensor are false controls on the flight controls, such as unforeseen signals to shut off the fuel.
It was also found out by the investigation that the same airplane that had been involved in the plane crashes of Air India had encountered difficulties in the past. On December 12, 2024, the same plane (AI-171) bound for Ahmedabad to London was unable to take off due to a sophisticated electrical fault. The airline was forced to turn back and repair the fault before the following day.
A few weeks before the Air India plane crashes the aircraft was involved in at least two more incidents. One of them was electrical issues that led to the cancellation of the flight, and another one displayed false warnings of the fuel system on the display screen of the aircraft. Such recurring technical difficulties imply that there was a continuing problem in the electrical and software systems of the plane.
