Burberry Replaces Tisci With Daniel Lee The fashion scene isn’t getting any hotter in Paris Fashion Week, but it is definitely getting hotter at Burberry. Daniel Lee has heated it all up as being appointed the new face of Burberry as he takes over from Riccardo Tisci has a creative head. This is being considered a major shakeup for the icon brand. The young Lee has been known to have breath fresh life into Bottega Veneta. The British designer has replaced the man who held the helm since 2018 and presented his last collection in the London Fashion Week. He has been known to have taken the brand to new heights but also decided to call it a day. Lee in comparison is quite young and new. There is much to explore and experiment on for him. He led the revival of the brand, reworking house styles, but in soft, sensual shapes. Bags and accessories became slouchy and immensely tactile, as clothes became younger and more directional. However, in April last year, he was investigated for possible infringement of social-distancing regulations with regard to an after-party and in November, his departure from the brand was announced as a “joint decision.” With the new appointment, he once again steps into the helm of a major fashion house, with all eyes now on him to see what he can do at Burberry. Reasons for exit of the iconic creative director are being sighted as personal. Riccardo Tisci’s departure from the British fashion house had been expected by both catwalk-watchers and the City after the men expressed their desire to return to their native Italy, where Gobbetti now heads Salvatore Ferragamo, the luxury shoemaker. Apparently, Tisci’s exit could have coincided with his Godfather CEO Italian Marco Gobbetti who appointed him initially and has also exited from the Burberry brand.
