Casino Group Plans Major Morocco Retail Expansion by 2035

French retail company Casino Group has confirmed its large-scale expansion into Morocco via a deal with local firm H&S Invest. The goal of the partnership is to open a lot of retail stores in the North African country over the coming decade. Casino will develop 210 stores under the French brand names Franprix and Monoprix in Morocco by 2035. This step marks an important achievement for Casino Group’s international franchise strategy, now in operation across 30 countries with 472 locations contributing 3.5% to annual net sales.
Palazzi said that the bustling Moroccan market makes it a key strategic priority for Casino Group. Thanks to their knowledge of the region and local activities, H&S Invest will speed up establishing the cellular infrastructure as Moroccan customers’ needs adapt.
In the year 2026, fresh products and a significant amount of local items will be introduced as part of the retail rollout. Shoppers can get ready-to-go items at Franprix, but they can also choose from many products in food, fashion, household items and cosmetics at Monoprix.
Moncef Belkhayat pointed out that the partnership is expected to bring more than 1,000 direct and indirect job opportunities by the year 2030. The company is using this partnership to introduce new options in its retail business and to help upgrade convenience stores in Morocco. Despite these last three declines in their home market, the two brands are still expanding.
