Egypt Leads Arab and African Countries in QS World Rankings 2025

Egypt has accomplished a tremendous step for higher education, by being ranked first in Africa and the Arab world in the number of universities in the QS World University Rankings 2025.
The report revealed that 27 universities in Egypt were included in the list, confirming Egypt’s place as the first in the region’s academic, and global influence. Also, some of Egypt’s top universities were included in the list, such as Cairo University, Ain Shams University, and Alexandria University, all of which continued to excel in their international reputation and experience for research, teaching, and student employability.
Egypt’s growing reputation as a global destination for education; is attributed to national initiatives to improve education pathway standards, develop greater inter-institutional and international partnerships, and increase investment in scientific infrastructure. The investment also included a focus on improving opportunities for digital learning and research participation across universities.
This international acknowledgment and recognition places Egypt at the forefront of education in the region and demonstrates the government’s vision for the future success of building knowledge economies.
As more universities align their degrees with international standards, Egypt’s attractiveness as a livable place for international students and scholars will continue to augment, reinforcing its higher education regional hub status.
